
About Shanta Shaheen Sultana
Clinical Hypnotherapist and Counsellor
Shanta is a clinical hypnotherapist, counsellor and MSc Research student at the University of Portsmouth. Her work supports people in managing anxiety, trauma, grief, stress, relationship challenges and the emotional impact of invisible disabilities.
Her professional background spans more than a decade across schools, hospitals, safe houses, community centres and therapeutic settings. She has supported individuals aged seven to forty with autism, ADHD, PTSD, learning difficulties, dissociation and a wide range of mental health needs. This experience brings deep understanding, sensitivity and adaptability to every session.
Her training includes psychodynamic therapy, CBT, REBT, evidence based hypnotherapy, Child Psychology, Grief Counselling, Addiction Recovery Coaching and mindful therapeutic techniques. She is also trained as a Special Needs Teacher and has delivered support in education, recovery and community settings. Her published work in psychology and wellbeing reflects a long standing interest in the link between mind, body and environment.
Shanta’s approach is person centred and collaborative. Each client’s goals shape the work. Together, you explore what you want to change, build a clear therapeutic plan and practise tools that support calmness, confidence and emotional resilience. She works with individuals, couples and young adults from diverse and neurodiverse backgrounds. She speaks English and Bengali with basic knowledge of Hindi and Urdu.
